Them Some Eating Critters: Food System Videos from Montana and Indiana

This fall I spent some time out West, in both Indiana and Montana looking at different food systems. The video below features Barb Brant and Pam Gerwe, founding members of Montana nonprofit Farm Hands, on building a community around local food production and consumption. It also includes footage from the Whitefish Farmers Market and Purple Frog Gardens, both located in Montana's Flathead Valley.
As a bit of a comparison, this next video is a short segment from a longer piece I'm working on about my family's row-crop (corn, soybeans and wheat) farm in Southern Indiana. The snippet below features Mumford Farms' farm assistant David Hagen on corns and hogs. Stay tuned over the next month or so for more clips as I get the documentary-length piece wrapped up.
